Having in mind the tremendous literature on functionally graded plates, those endowed with a circular hole whose stiffness varies linearly in axisymmetric fashion were not seemingly considered before. Interestingly, it was found that there exists a slope beyond which the stress concentration due to far-field uni-axial traction loads (i) does not occur at the rim of the hole and (ii) increases very marginally.
