He was head of the Micromechanics laboratory at Sincrotrone Trieste from 1988 to 1995. Since 1996 he is at DPIA, University of Udine, currently as full professor of Machine Design. His research activity includes computational and experimental mechanics in biomechanics, aerospace, microfabrication and microsystems design. Recently he was involved in several industrially oriented research project mainly related to multiphysics simulation, thermal fatigue and cyclic plasticity. He was scientific coordinator of 3 EU research projects.
